CutieKiwi's Creative- Tips: Pig!

Hey Minecrafters!

Here's another set of tips/facts about mobs. This week, I'll be telling you about the pig, one of the first Minecraft animals!

1. Light 'Em Up
    Zombie Pigmen are a combination of Zombie and Pig. They look like a zombie, but with the face of a pig. They live in the Nether, and attack in packs. But look out during a storm, as a pig that is struck by lightning will turn into a Zombie Pigman!

2. Creepy Pig!
    As I said earlier, the pig is one of the first mobs released in Minecraft. Not long after, Notch attempted to create a quadrupedal (four legged) pig. This pig didn't particularly piggy, so Notch made it into another mob- the iconic Creeper!

3. Pig Riding
    I know this is a commonly known tip about pigs, but for new Minecrafters, it's still helpful! Pigs can be ridden with a saddle, similarly to the Horse. Pigs can be lead with a Carrot on a Stick, but Piglets can't be ridden.

CutieKiwi's Creative: Quick Tips- Sheep!

Hey Minecrafters!

Sorry, I haven't been playing much lately, so here's some quick tips about one of the best passive mobs- the Sheep!

1. Use Shears!
When you use shears to shave sheep, it will yield a greater amount of wool- 1 to 3 blocks, instead of the 1 block that you would get from killing one. It also means you can keep it as a pet! :)

2. Climbing Sheep...?
This sounds a bit weird, but sheep can climb ladders! They're just awesome like that. So, don't leave ladders near your sheep pen!

3. jeb_ the Rainbow Sheep!
If you name your sheep with a name tag labelled "jeb_", it will make your sheep change wool colours, like a the cracks on a Prismarine block.

CutieKiwi's Creative: Quick Tips- Endermen!

Hey Minecrafters!

This week I'm going to be spotlighting one of my favourite mobs for Quick Tips, the Enderman!

Enderman are hostile mobs that can teleport and pick up/place blocks. They spawn at a light level of 7 or less and in groups of 1-4 in the Overworld. Here are some tips to avoid them.

1. Make your buildings 2 blocks high.
Endermen are three blocks tall, so they can't teleport into places with a two block high roof! Also, they can't teleport into or out of a building made of obsidian.

2. Keep a dog with you before attacking an Enderman!
When an enderman is hit, it becomes angry and will chase you, but if you have a dog nearby that can injure it, it will stop pursuing you. Another trick is to wear a pumpkin on your head- then they can't see you.

3. Use water to your advantage!
When an enderman enters water, it will sustain damage. Daybreak will also do this- they will then teleport underground.

Hey Minecrafters,

Sorry, I've been working on big builds lately and haven't finished them yet, so this week I've got another recommendation- HiveMC Survival Games!

Cornucopia

The HiveMC Survival Games are a fun PvP game where you must battle to survive by looting chests found in the cornucopia and dotted around the arena. You have to always be watchful and wary, as fellow competitors might be behind you. Stay alive for the longest to then compete in the Deathmatch, a battle where the lone survivor becomes the winner!

Hey Minecrafters,

Sorry, I haven't had much time to build this week, so here's a recommendation about one of my favourite games on HiveMC, a minigames surver! The Lab is a fun game where you play as a test subject for the nefarious Dr Zuk, a scientist. He will put you to the test in three random minigames. You must battle other test subjects for the title of the best test subject! You earn atoms by getting a 1st, 2nd or 3rd place in one of the minigames. My personal favourite is DodgeBall! Try this on HiveMC!

April Fools Update!

Hey guys! Pinky Here!


I am literally soooooooo sorry that I haven't posted in ages.

Anyways, recently it has been april fools day. Minecraft came up with an update for april fools day! Its really hilarious and I always look forward to these updates each year!

This year, minecraft came with the update where the whole minecraft world is 'love' theme.

The clouds are heart shaped!

                     

The water has hearts coming out of it!

Snow in the desert?

Horses can be put on your heads!

Creepers are soooo adorable!

You can only have one world.

And finally, theres heart swords!!!!!!

This is really awesome, and I hope mojang keep minecraft like this forever!

CutieKiwi's Tips- 3 Top Survival Tips

Hey Minecrafters,

I've decided that I'm going to share 3 of my favourite tips for making a base while playing in Survival. Here we go!

1. When choosing a base, look for a good area!

This is super important. The best spots are where there are lots of forests, water, animals and other important resources. Also, if you're playing in multiplayer, keep away from others' bases, and, just in case, hide your base. Underground is good! :)

2. Light it up!

Once again, very important. Hostile mobs will spawn at a light level of 7 and below, so be careful to keep your base lit up.  Make some torches, or a lit furnace will work (temporarily!).

3. Play with friends!

Playing with friends makes it much easier, and more fun, too! Either play on a server, or invite some friends around and play on a LAN world!

Shinekiwi's Quick Tips: Try Hive MC -- Deathrun!

Hey guys,

Sorry I haven't posted in AGES - I've been really busy. I just have time for a quick post, so what I wanted to say was, if you haven't tried the game Deathrun on Hive MC, you definitely should!
The IP address is play.hivemc.com, and Deathrun is kind of like a long version of a weird parkour. If you are a runner, then you have to run through all these traps that deaths can set off by pressing the button.

So give Deathrun a try! It's one of my favourite games.
